Celebrating Inclusive Employment in Our Community
November 5, 2025

On October 28, 2025, we were honoured to attend the second annual Inclusive Employer Appreciation Event — an evening filled with connection, conversation, and a shared commitment to building workplaces where everyone belongs.

We are grateful to be part of a community where inclusive employment is not just talked about, but actively practiced. The event highlighted the meaningful work being done by local employers who are creating opportunities, supporting individuals of all abilities, and fostering environments where people can contribute their strengths.

We were truly humbled to be recognized as this year’s Community Champion. This recognition belongs to our entire Dawson Co-op team — from hiring leaders to front-line staff — who show every day that inclusion is something we do, not just something we say. Our Co-operative values guide us to welcome all members of our community, and we are proud to continue this work alongside so many thoughtful and dedicated partners.

We’d also like to congratulate the other outstanding businesses recognized:

  • Inclusive TrailblazerNotre Dame School
  • Emerging Inclusive EmployerSimply Used Furniture & Appliances
  • Accessibility InnovatorHome Medical Needs

Each of these organizations is helping shape a more welcoming and supportive community — and we are inspired by their leadership.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible, and to everyone who came out to celebrate. By working together, we are building a community where inclusive employment isn’t the exception — it’s the norm.

We are proud to be part of that journey.
